Hello,
i have to replace a WalkmanDAT Sony TCDD8, used to record some atmos, connected to a portable préamplifier.
Is there some little hard disk recorder able to do the same?
Thanks by advance,
Laurent.

Try the Nomad Jukebox 1 or 3, or the iRiver iHP-100.

Marantz has a new recorder with decent preamps and metering, phantom power, limiter, low-cut, etc. It's about the size of a Tascam DAP1, but half the price and better-sounding.
It records to CF cards or IBM MicroDrives, has digital outs or you can remove the media and read it in a computer: file format is either uncompressed wav or MP3 at a variety of bitrates.
Or if you want something more mickey mouse but possibly a little cheaper, check core-sound.com.
