Has anyone had expereince of getting audio (verbal reactions) from in a flying helicopter. I was wondering if there a was any cable/connector/Adaptor i could take to get a feed from the helicopters internal audio system. i.e headset/Helmet. They could pass a handheld mic around as there is 3 hosts and they are not on camera, or as someone suggested put a lav in the mouthpeice of the helmet. I am thinking a feed from the helicopter would be
perfect for this situation.

I had a situation where I had to get dialoge from a helicopter. There were two actors talking, because of safety concerns, the pilot would not let me near the helicopter!.

What I did to record the audio was use a Radio Shack scanner locked to the channel the helicopter was using. I simply took a line out from the mini-jack on the scanner into my mixer. It worked great, I got the dialoge, and I did not have to be anywhere near the helicopter!.

I hope this helps.
