Hello,
I would like to know the union rate or the usual rate per day for a tv documentary film shoot in USA.
That would be for 1 sound man alone, plus equipment.
Do you always rate including equipment ?
Are the rates the same all over USA or are they different in LA and NY or elsewhere ?

Otherwise where can I find a global list of union rate in the film industry ?

Thanks in advance,
Fred

I'm not sure unions cover documentry shoots especially from overseas.

A fair rate here for a film shoot would be $450 labor for 10 hrs & $350 per day for gear.

Union rates are different in different areas.

A good starting point would be http://editorsguild.com/ whish lists the IATSE national rates.

However, much news & documentary is under different unions including
http://union.nabetcwa.org/nabet/
or even
http://www.ibew.com/.
