I'm going to be looking at some extra freelance work as a dubbing mixer, and was wondering what a fair and average fee is elsewhere in the world for an experienced dubbing mixer, with extensive credits.

I am in vancouver Canada, but am looking at the US and London, and other european countries.

Hench,
Since you won't be able to bring your clients (those who gave you your credit list) with you, you won't be able to ask for anymore than scale. If you're looking for daily scale, here 's a link:
http://www.editorsguild.com/v2/wages.htm#
So you're looking between $45 and $55 an hour.
Good luck on your quest especially during the summer when their are a lot of Mixers with even more credits than you have are also looking for work.

Thanks for the info Dr Sound.

BTW, I am looking for a permanent move, not just for the summer.
I wanted to make sure I don't over or under-sell myself.
I know I'll have to start as a freelancer again, untill I can find something more permanent. Which I know I will be able to do, since I have excellent client realtionships skills, and am a good dialogue mixer.
Unfortunately up here, people care more about how cheap you are, than how good you are, and will take their post elsewhere, if the other place will do it for $5,- less. And I'm getting fed up working ina climate like that.

Hench,
First off it's like that here (L.A.) also.
Second, you will probably have to land in an FX seat before you walk in and get a dialog seat. That's the way it works. Prove yourself in the FX chair and then you might get a chance to prove yourself in a dialog chair.

It doesn't matter what chair I get.
It's all the same to me.
Plus I can edit as well, and have my own Portable set-up with full SFX
library from when I had my own studio. PT's and Nuendo.
All in a briefcase.
