Any special tips for getting useable sound of live action on a basketball court? It's so reverberant and always moving.

Hello Rich....
In my NBA and NCAA days (ESPN, USA and others) we put a lav mic
taped at the bracket holding up the "hoop"
Used a tennis ball for a"shock Mount" and stand off.
Just cut two holes 180 degrees apart to fit the connector through
Use Gaff tape UNDER the support for the rim.
Mak sure the backboard is tight...
You will need to experiment to get proper levels and placement....
Hard wiring is a pain, wireless is better.
Wait till you hear the “ Swoosh” of the ball going into the net…
And just wait till you really hear the players in the paint…
I have done this for both Radio and TV
If you have the staff , two or three shotgun mics on the court
will also work out well… Hope this helps
