I'm a USC film student graduating this year. I've taken as many sound classes as I can, I've gotten really comfortable with the technology of post sound, and I'm starting to work independently editing sound on student and low budget films. However, I still feel like I lack the experience and knowledge that working for a top notch sound designer or post-sound facility can offer. What's the best way to get an entry level position where I can watch and work with seasoned post-sound pros? Most companies don't seem to post openings for internships. Should I just start cold calling people?
