Sound Designer/Editor needed for Gritty Teen-Drama feature film already in post. This is a no-budget indie project, with big potential, that was shot on DV 24p. We are currently posting the project and are nearing the rough cut stage. The ideal person will come aboard on a part-time, as needed basis (basically make your own schedule as long as you get the needed work done in the time set forth) and work with the Picture Editor, Music Supervisor and Director to create the needed sound design for the film.
Responsibilities will include Sound and Music Editing, as well as Effects placement, and Dialogue cleanup. Basically looking for a Sound/Audio wizard to come in with a good creative energy and make the audio portion of the film flow.
At first we are looking for a festival premiere, and then will be shopping around for video and cable release, with possibly a limited theatrical as well. All parties involved are working for back-end profit participation and so will you (meaning NO upfront compensation).
Great for a resume/reel piece as well as getting connected with a group of working filmmakers, for future paying gigs. You must have similar experience on film or tv projects and must understand the constraints of independent filmmaking, while at the same time treat this project in the same professional manner as a higher budgeted one to achieve the best possible quality.
We are specifically looking for someone with their own set-up/system (i.e. Protools or similar), that we don’t have to hand-hold. Picture and sound originally recorded on Mini-DV, but backed up on DAT. Most music will most likely be provided on CD.
Email resume pasted in email, or attached as doc, pdf, rtf, or txt only. NO ZIPPED or COMPRESSED files. Do NOT submit for other positions at this time, they WILL BE DELETED. *Reels will be requested at a later date.
NOTE: Please put "SOUND EDITOR" in subject line of email
Willing to look at up-and-coming person that want to make a name for themselves, as long as they are professional, easy going, and have atleast a little know how and past experience under their belt (we DO NOT have time for the learning curve).
