I would like to get a hold of the interview (I believe it must have been on Editor's Net) with Christopher Boyes about designing sound for Titanic which inludes this quote:

"I love the way the groans accompany the slowly sinking ship that make you feel as if this incredible creation is resisting death -- as if Titanic is a huge dying creature that's not giving up on life yet."

I don't know if this is exactly the same note you've read before, but it's about Titanic's postproduction, and it contains some Rydstrom's and Boyes's commentaries. I believe it was published originally in Mix Magazine.
