wow, I cant believe nobody has any advice for you.. Here are some ideas for you.. Studying about recording even if its for music is a plus. I graduated from Expression Center for New Media in Emeryville, CA with a degree in their Sound Arts program. It basically teaches you the ins and outs of recording music. There are a few classes that teach the motion picture aspects of sound recording and editing... As far as what you should do, I think that if youre learning aout recording thats a plus. You should read up on the Film and the use of sound throughout the history of film..Buy some books by Walter Murch! There is a great book, Audio Vision by Michael Chion.. I highly recomend it..Watch lots of DVDs and listen to comentaries.. You can learn lots that way.. Most of all, GO RECORD SOMETHING AND EDIT IT IN PRO TOOLS!! This is very important.. Oh yeah, work for free and learn as much as you can from others .. HAve Fun..

Get a good internship with someone who A. Knows what they are doing. B. Is willing to train you. C. Gets you some credits in the process....
Its better than paying $15000 to $30000 to go to an audio school
cheers
