Bill Condon
received the
CAS Filmmaker Award
at the 44th Annual CAS Awards

Bill Condon received the CAS Filmmaker Award at the 44th CAS Awards on February 16, 2008 at the Biltmore Bowl of the Millennium-Biltmore Hotel. Los Angeles. Bill Condon is the third recipient of the CAS Filmmaker Award, which was bestowed to Quentin Tarantino in 2006 and Gilber Cates in 2007.

Bill Condon recently wrote and directed Dreamgirls, for which he was nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award. Condon previously wrote and directed Kinsey -- for which he won the 2005 Best Director Award from the British Directors Guild -- and Gods and Monsters, which was named Best Picture by the National Board of Review, as well as earning Condon an Academy AwardŽ for Best Adapted Screenplay. Condon wrote the screenplay for the big-screen version of the musical Chicago, for which he received a second OscarŽ nomination. Condon currently serves on the board of Film Independent, as well as the Independent Writers Steering Committee of the WGA.
